We had a long walk from the ship to the exit of the port area in Dubrovnik, but we had this beautiful view of the ship. Notice the
short hair! I had a nightmare haircut in Turkey. I wanted my hair cut, but instead of having someone on the ship whack it off, I wanted to be safe and have a
professional do it. No such luck! I paid $7 to have some guy who didn't speak a word of English walk in off the street, pick up a pair of blunt preschool scissors, and
whack my hair off in one sudden movement (shorter than I wanted it), swept my hair up and walked out. I realize that I haven't had a picture of my roommate Amy. We had a
beutiful view of the coast from a pass above Dubrovnik. |

More beautiful Croatian coastline. |

I took a trip out of Dubrovnik to Tirsteno and Stone. This old wall, resembling the Great Wall of China, surrounds Ston. |
 |
 |
I also went to the Island of Korcula which is supposedly the birthplace of Marco Polo. The whole city is comprised of stone buildings,
as are most cities in Croatia (at least that I saw). Despite the cold weather, the vegetation in Croatia was quite tropical - Palm trees and even orange trees. |

Croatia has the cleanest water in the world. The ocean is the most beautiful deep turquoise color I've ever seen. |

The old city of Dubrovnik is surrounded by a wall about 2 km in circumference. Shane and I spent a couple hours walking around the walls, looking in we had
a great view of the old stone houses with the red tile roofs, and as we looked out we looked over the beautiful clear water. |

 |
We sat outside of the walls all day waiting for the sun to set over the water. |

The last day I visited a mountain village called Osojnik. They served us figs and then gave us a twig and ushered
us into a room with a small fire where we smoked bacon and ate potatoes that had been warming in the fire. |
