Liz on our undercover mission to move around the no parking signs so cars wouldn't wake us up while driving over the metal plates in front of our computer in the middle of the night.

The last waterfall on the way up to Mt. Adams is Mossy Fall on the King Ravine trail.

First view out of the ravine once I hit tree line on the King Ravine trail on the way up to Mt. Adams.

The decision point, The Elevated, or The Subway??? I took the Subway where you have to climb through rock caves.

IMG_4384.JPG
This was the only picture I was able to take of myself the entire day. It was a gorgeous warm and sunny late September Friday with hardly anyone on the trail.

The foliage was just beginning to turn.

The auto road heading up to the summit of Mt. Washington.

IMG_4390.JPG
The Mt. Adams summit (5799') that I blew right over. I only got my picture when I realized that I'd passed the summit with no pomp and circumstance.

I'm pretty sure this the view of JQ Adams from the summit of Mt. Madison.

Madison Hut boarded up for the season. Too bad because I could have really used a nice lunch break there.

Christa and I right before our 1/2 marathon relay race in Hollis, NH, Sat. Oct. 2, 2004. We ran as team Blue Spruce.

IMG_4402.JPG
Christa, our anchor leg, striding out to the finish. She ran her very hilly 6.7 miles averaging 6:46 min. miles.

Sat. Oct. 9, 2004, beginning our hike on the Long trail in VT which turned out to be quite an adventure.

Christa's dog Froda, getting nice and wet on our hike.

Froda having the time of his life.

IMG_4408.JPG
A few hours into our hike our shirts were pretty wet, so we made homemade hangers to dry them while we hiked.

My 3D hanger.

IMG_4419.JPG
We bypassed some of the trail and went straight up a ski run.

IMG_4420.JPG
The view from the ski run was beautiful looking out on the foliage at its peak all around us.

IMG_4422.JPG
We picked the best weekend for a Vermont fall foliage hike.

IMG_4424.JPG
NO, the lift was not running. We actually got up the mountain the hard way.

IMG_4426.JPG
We're not just laughing for the camera. Froda decided to have his way with me right as the self timer was going off.

IMG_4428.JPG
We probably shouldn't have stopped to take so many pictures only an hour before it started getting dark, but it was so beautiful.

IMG_4433.JPG
We found the ski trail heading down to our car by the time it got dark thanks to Jonah the ranger who told us about a short cut, but we were very tired and slap happy on the way down. We definitely didn't make it all the way down on our feet.

IMG_4435.JPG
Yep, that's about how I felt after this very long day.
